2 Year Urology Fellowship; 3 year Urogynecology Fellowship
The programs is an ABOG/ABU approved fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS). Cooperative and integrated fellowship with urology and urogynecology. Comprehesive clinical training in both transvaginal and transabdominal/laparoscopic repair of pelvic organ prolapse, urodynamics and voiding dysfunction, male and female incontinence. Functioning laboratories of basic research offering research opportunities to fellows in training. We will be taking applications for urology fellow for 2011.

2 year Urology, 3 year OB/GYN fellowship. The faculty of this ABOG approved program include 5 Board certified OB/GYN physicians and 3 Board certified Urologists. The program provides comprehensive trans-disciplinary training in vaginal, abdominal, laparoscopic and robotic surgical training. Clinical and basic science research is available, and translational projects are available through the departments of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Neurology. A Master’s of Public Health degree is also available.

Program Offers
The fellowship program is accredited by the ABU/ABOG. This is a three-year multidisciplinary fellowship with a broad experience in management of female urinary and fecal incontinence, bladder pain disorders, pelvic organ prolapse, defecatory dysfunction and voiding dysfunction. Experience will include training in both vaginal and abdominal procedures with a special emphasis on laparoscopic and robotic procedures.

Each fellow will take graduate courses in Biostatistics and Epidemiology. Regularly scheduled didactic sessions are lead by the faculty covering all topics in female pelvic floor dysfunction. Time will be protected for completion of research projects and support provided from our Department as well as the Clinical Research Center.

3-year fellowship: The faculty for our ABOG-ABU accredited program includes 4 fellowship-trained Urogynecologists - 1 boarded in Urology and 3 boarded in Obstetrics & Gynecology. This provides depth, breadth and diversity to our clinical and surgical training, which includes vaginal, abdominal, laparoscopic, and robotic approaches to pelvic reconstruction. We also offer training in urinary diversions and endourologic procedures. High-quality research education, presentation and conduct is also fundamental to our FPMRS training program. The Loyola FPMRS Fellowship is a three-year program and also offers two advanced degree opportunities: (1) MS in Clinical Research Methods; (2) MA in Bioethics.

The programs is an ABOG/ABU approved fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS). Cooperative and integrated fellowship with urology and urogynecology. Significant teaching contributions and rotations with colorectal surgery, geriatrics, gastroenterology. Fellows will receive exposure in the areas of neurourology, female urology, urodynamics, urinary diversion, painful bladder syndrome, and neuromodulation. Busy clinical rotation followed by protected research year. The departments of Urology and Gynecology each have independently functioning laboratories of basic research offering research opportunities to fellows in training. For the 2011 match, we are accepting applicants for a 3-year position.

2 years including 1 year basic science research
Emphasis on Female Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery in particular vaginal prolapse, incontinence fistula and rectal reconstruction and Video Urodynamic testing. Fellows will also have the opportunity to gain significant experience in male incontinence, male reconstruction and neurourology outside of the formal FPMRS curriculum.
The first year is 80% clinical and 20% research, reversing in the second year.

Program Offers
A 3 year fellowship for gynecologists and 2 years for urologists. Our program combines the resources of two established training institutions, University Hospitals Case Medical Center and Metro Health Medical Center, to offer trainees exposure to the breadth and depth of FPMRS, including robotics, vaginal and abdominal surgery, single port laparoscopy, novel therapies, NIH funded research and outstanding clinical experiences. All fellows have a full 12 months of dedicated research time as well as significant opportunities to purse personal research interests. The program faculty includes 3 fellowship trained urogynecologists, 2 fellowship trained female urologists and one fellowship trained minimally invasive surgeon between the two clinical locations. Off-service rotations will add depth to the educational experience and include colorectal surgery, neurology, and a multidisciplinary pelvic pain clinic. Fellows will be well trained to become productive and successful academicians.

Program Offers
3 year fellowships for gynecologists
(2 years for urologists). ABOG/ABU accredited. Each fellowship includes 12 months of research, which may be translational or clinically oriented, interspersed with 24 or 12 months of clinical rotations in Urogynecology, Urology, Colorectal Surgery and Geriatrics. The Fellowship faculty includes four Urogynecologists, two Urologists, three Geriatric Specialists, Colorectal Surgeons, and a Radiologist. Fellows are trained in the evaluation and treatment of women with all pelvic floor disorders. Both surgical and non-surgical approaches to treatment are emphasized. Surgery includes vaginal, abdominal, laparoscopic and robotic approaches. Fellows are also prepared for academic careers via full participation in research projects, grant development, presentations at national meetings, and journal publications. Fellows who plan academic careers and are completing our program or other accredited programs has the opportunity of applying for a NICHD sponsored Women’s Reproductive Health Research (WRHR) Career Scholar Award which is available at UAB. Scholars will be sponsored for up to five years of mentored research in basic, translational, or clinical aspects of women’s health, combined with clinical work.

Program Offers
The University of Michigan fellowship offers a two-year track (for urology residency graduates) and a three-year track (for gynecology residency graduates). The fellows benefit from extensive interactions between urology and urogynecology faculty. Individual rotations are tailored based on the background and interests of the fellow. Extensive clinical experience is available in all relevant areas, including female incontinence, pelvic prolapse, mesh complications, fistulas, videourodynamic testing, neurourology, diversion, reconstructive surgery, neuromodulation, interstitial cystitis, male incontinence, and male urethral surgery. Excellent opportunities exist to participate in NIH-funded research.

3 year Urogynecology Fellowship: ABOG/ABU approved program.
The faculty of our program includes 3 fellowship trained urogynecologists, one urologist, one colo-rectal surgeon and one Basic Urologic Scientist. Fellows will receive ample exposure in all areas of pelvic reconstructive surgery in women including vaginal, abdominal and robotic surgery, anti-incontinence surgery, and neuromodulation. The program offers opportunities for fellows to participate in clinical research as well as NIH sponsored translational research in the Basic Science Urologic Laboratory. Opportunities are available to obtain Masters in Clinical Epidemiology of Masters in Translational Science for qualified candidates.
