Program Offers
2 year ABOG/ABU approved fellowship including one year clinical and one year research (basic science and/or clinical). Comprehensive multi-disciplinary training in female urology, pelvic floor reconstruction (vaginal, open, laparoscopic and robotic), female incontinence, voiding dysfunction, and sexual dysfunction, neurourology, neuromodulation, urinary diversion, and urodynamics. Male incontinence, ED, and prosthetic surgery opportunities outside of female pelvic medicine curriculum.

2 year Urology, 3 year OB/GYN fellowship. The faculty of this ABOG approved program include 5 Board certified OB/GYN physicians and 3 Board certified Urologists. The program provides comprehensive trans-disciplinary training in vaginal, abdominal, laparoscopic and robotic surgical training. Clinical and basic science research is available, and translational projects are available through the departments of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Neurology. A Master’s of Public Health degree is also available.

2 Year Urology Fellowship; 3 year Urogynecology Fellowship This is an integrated fellowship with urogynecology. A diverse faculty of female urologists and urogynecologists and colorectal surgeons comprise the core faculty. Fellows will receive ample exposure in the areas of female urology, urodynamics, neurourology, urinary diversion, male reconstructive and anti-incontinence surgery and neuromodulation. The departments of Urology and Gynecology have 2 independently functioning laboratories of basic research offering research opportunities to fellows in training.

3-year fellowship: The faculty for our ABOG-ABU accredited program includes 4 fellowship-trained Urogynecologists - 1 boarded in Urology and 3 boarded in Obstetrics & Gynecology. This provides depth, breadth and diversity to our clinical and surgical training, which includes vaginal, abdominal, laparoscopic, and robotic approaches to pelvic reconstruction. We also offer training in urinary diversions and endourologic procedures. High-quality research education, presentation and conduct is also fundamental to our FPMRS training program. The Loyola FPMRS Fellowship is a three-year program and also offers two advanced degree opportunities: (1) MS in Clinical Research Methods; (2) MA in Bioethics.

Cooperative and integrated fellowship with urology and urogynecology. Significant teaching contributions and rotations with colorectal surgery, geriatrics, gastroenterology. Fellows will receive exposure in the areas of neurourology, female urology, urodynamics, urinary diversion, painful bladder syndrome, and neuromodulation. Busy clinical rotation followed by protected research year. The departments of Urology and Gynecology each have independently functioning laboratories of basic research offering research opportunities to fellows in training. For the 2011 match, we are accepting applicants for a 3-year position.

Program Offers
The University of Michigan fellowship offers a two-year track (for urology residency graduates) and a three-year track (for gynecology residency graduates). The fellows benefit from extensive interactions between urology and urogynecology faculty. Individual rotations are tailored based on the background and interests of the fellow. Extensive clinical experience is available in all relevant areas, including female incontinence, pelvic prolapse, mesh complications, fistulas, videourodynamic testing, neurourology, diversion, reconstructive surgery, neuromodulation, interstitial cystitis, male incontinence, and male urethral surgery. Excellent opportunities exist to participate in NIH-funded research.

Clinical and surgical experience includes treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, anal incontinence, fistula repair, colorectal pelvic floor dysfunction, urinary diversion, neurogenic bladder, penile reconstruction, prosthesis surgery and urethral reconstruction.
